@jogbert Why? No IS on? To little light or did you make a mistake?

via Twitter for Android in reply to jogbert

@jogbert I see you managed with your 70-200 mm lens :)

via web in reply to jogbert

Hmm, are there anywhere to get the Sun Studio versions referred to on this page: hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Commu… ? The download links don't work :/

via web

The files from my build are 80 MB less than the pre-build ones, so something must have gone wrong

via Twitter for Android

Well, the build process completed, but I am unable to log in when it has booted. I need to troubleshoot this further, later on

via web

I think I may have completed my first build :)

via web

Building takes a while when it needs to run for 30 minutes until you can see if your fix works

@gausby Det er da klart en mulighed. Jeg har heller ikke set @davsebamse siden OpenSourceDays

via web in reply to gausby

The actual error message did use "connect" and not the correct "connected", it wasn't me who made that up

via web

"We've noticed your computer is currently offline. To activate ... you'll need to be connect to the internet" - But I am on the internet. :(

via web

Just noticed Origin is mentioned as being in beta. So EA require you to use a beta program for one of their biggest launches of the year...

via web

"Unable to launch Battlefield 3. Please make sure this game is installed properly and try again." And how can I check that Origin?

via web

Great, installation now in progress... Origin thinks my DVD drive is an Internet connection, so I download with 13 MB/sec according to it :)

via web

I'm trying to install Battlefield 3, the new Origin crap is dead slow. 5 minutes of wait between each action, at least :(

via web

@gausby Nu skal jeg lige blive lidt klogere på det først, og få en ide om det egentlig er noget værd, men det kunne da være sjovt at mødes

via web in reply to gausby

Trying to build on a server, and I have made a few improvements already :) github.com/Tenzer/smartos…

via web

@kasperh Jeg kan se at der er noget video arkiv, men spørgsmålet er om det er i en kvalitet der er værd at smide op på et TV?

via web in reply to kasperh

@kasperh Jeg var slet ikke klar over de havde en apps (kan se de også har til Android). Er der noget i det som kan bruges til noget?

via web in reply to kasperh

@jogbert Okay, that wasn't how I read your tweet though, I just thought it was your first time to get an answer accepted

via web in reply to jogbert

@jogbert Is that a hard thing to get?

via web in reply to jogbert

It's impressive how much noise you can remove by lowering the voltage to a fan. The CPU cooler in my home server now runs at 5V, not 12V :)

@sevanjaniyan I guess that's only useful on Twitter, or other places with a limit on input lengths :)

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan How long have you been using dvorak?

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan It's down to 13 minutes with -j12, so you were right :)

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan Okay, the -j48 build is completed in 17 minutes, I'll try a -j12 now

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan I am currently running a -j48 buildkernel with /usr/obj mounted on MFS, I'll try less jobs afterwards

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan I don't know, I noticed it too. There is 2 x 8GB blocks for each CPU, so not a weird configuration or something

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@jogbert I should just have the entire / copied to RAM on boot and then use that ;)

via web in reply to jogbert

@sevanjaniyan I kept an eye on the disk busyness with iostat during a part of the build, and it was rarely above 20%, the server has 64GB :)

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan Also, just to be clear, the 2 hours were for both "make buildworld" and "make kernel", not just "make kernel"

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan I ran it with -j48 before, but you want to get a comparison?

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan So you recon it should have been faster? I'm just trying to install ccache on it now, to see how much that helps

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan I don't find any mention of "witness" in the dmesg output, so I guess not?

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan Ah, okay. I'm still learning :)

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan No, I set csup to use RELENG_9, as stated in the mailing list post you linked me to, isn't that 9-CURRENT or is that 9-STABLE?

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

I tried to build 9-CURRENT world and kernel on a 48 core box at work, it took ~2 hours, on a single SSD drive. I guess that's pretty good?

via web

@Veronica It's like putting an X on your hand to remember something, and then forgetting why you put it there later on

The worst thing in Cod:MW2, even worse than cheaters, are people who play non-deathmatch games only for the kills. I simply don't understand

via web

@sevanjaniyan Do you know anywhere I can find a list of what's new/updated in 9.0? Just so I can figure out if I should upgrade or not :)

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan Oh, thank you. I'll have to read that when I'm done with the laundry :)

via Twitter for Android in reply to sevanjaniyan

@jogbert Ok, then 1200mm is probably a bit to much :)

via web in reply to jogbert

@jogbert If I where you, I would go for the 1200mm lens: the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-… - even though I don't know what you are taking pictures of ;)

via web in reply to jogbert

Oh well, I can't root my phone until I get an MicroSD card reader, or a MicroSD -> SD adapter...

via web

@jogbert Heh, I love using Arch Linux at work :) Can't screen help you out with that? Or perhaps Cygwin?

via web in reply to jogbert

Hmm, should I root my HTC Legend and install CyanogenMod on it? I doubt HTC comes out with any further updates for it, and it only runs 2.2

via web

@jogbert Okay, that does at least mean you aren't under pressure to get things done, at least not until Monday ;)

via web in reply to jogbert

@jogbert Why are you at work on a Saturday anyway?

via web in reply to jogbert

@sevanjaniyan I found a slightly newer motherboard at work (asrock.com/mb/overview.as…), it has a 3500+ CPU and 4 GB DDR2 RAM on it

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan I replaced the motherboard with one of the same model. The hardware is old remains from my work place, so I found a spare one

via Twitter for Android in reply to sevanjaniyan

That was a limited amount of joy. The server froze, and now it can't even get to POST. I think I'll try another one...

via Twitter for Android

A new motherboard in my server seemed to do wonders. I am now able to do a ZFS scrub while streaming video from it, without reboots \o/

via web

The MB in my home server is busted. Right now it corrupts all network packages because of the PCI Intel NIC I'm using :(

via web

@sevanjaniyan Okay. I think I'll stick with 8.2-STABLE and instead focus a bit on the hardware issues I have found for now

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan Hmm, I don't see 9.0 RC1 anywhere? Only beta 3? ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/amd64/amd64/ISO-IMAGES/9.0/

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@jogbert You don't get the point of it. The contacts on both devices are the same now = synced :)

via web in reply to jogbert

@jogbert Yeah, not optimal at all. I didn't even remember that it was such a NIC the server had, so I just have to find an Intel one

via web in reply to jogbert

@jogbert The most time consuming part of the upgrade was running "mergemaster" for each jail with all the version bumbed files :>

via web in reply to jogbert

My home server crashed again, this time it did however not just reboot, but wrote "re0: watchdog timeout", so I have to find a new NIC

via web

Finished upgrading my server to 8-STABLE, with all jails, also updated ZFS pool and datasets to newest available versions

via web

@sevanjaniyan I just did a complete memtest on the machine, took 1½ hour, no errors found :/

via web in reply to sevanjaniyan

@sevanjaniyan Yeah, I planned to try that out today before I do much else

via Twitter for Android in reply to sevanjaniyan

@jogbert Mine is also running ZFS and jails, but it's probably slightly easier for me since I have the server right here

via Twitter for Android in reply to jogbert

@jennaezarik Are you sure you want to know?

via web in reply to jennaezarik

I need to figure out how to upgrade my FreeBSD 8.2 home server to 8-STABLE, perhaps that will remove the spontaneous reboots when under load

via web

@jogbert Ah, okay. Never mind my ideas then :P

via web in reply to jogbert

@jogbert In that case you could just go to one of their physical stores, you are not required to give out name and address to shop there

via web in reply to jogbert

@jogbert Well, if you tried, you could perhaps delete all other orders they got in, in order to get the delivery faster

via web in reply to jogbert

@jogbert Did you check if it allowed a semi-colon? xkcd.com/327/ ;)

via web in reply to jogbert

On another note, why is it the Twitter Android app doesn't support using Twitter's own image sharing service?

@jogbert So you have chosen to go away from Hetzner?

via web in reply to jogbert

@jogbert Most likely, afaik Germany is in the same timezone as most other parts of Europe ;)

via web in reply to jogbert

Gah, I really need a faster CPU for video editing and rendering... But that's a bit down on my list. A new monitor is probably more needed
